Founded in 1911, GRAR has remained true to its Mission of providing resources, promoting professionalism, advancing real property rights, and positioning its Members for success.
As a GRAR Member and Multiple Listing Participant, you will have access to the most current properties for sale or rent, covering a service area of eleven counties in the Greater Rochester area.

Affords you access to a multitude of programs and services that will enhance your career and business as they have been designed especially with you and your professional success in mind. For example, the Rookie Program is for those members who have 4 years or less experience in the real estate field, and are looking for ways to jump-start their career.

Includes membership in the New York State Association of REALTORS (NYSAR) and the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). NAR represents more than 1.1 million REALTORS who engage in all aspects of the real estate industry, including renting; leasing; appraising; financing; building, developing and managing, making it the largest and most influential professional trade organizations in the country.

Gives you access to a wide variety of information sources, designed to help keep you up-to-speed in today’s rapidly changing business environment.
If you are interested in becoming a member of GRAR, you will need to:

Provide a copy of NYS license or Letter of Authorization (for REALTOR and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE membership only).

Complete a GRAR Membership Application. Please note that these applications are not handled “while you wait” and should be mailed or faxed to GRAR for processing.

Pay Application Fees and Dues:

Our dues year runs from July 1 through June 30.

Please call GRAR's Member Services Staff at (585)292-5000 for up to date figures, as anytime in between this period is prorated.
GRAR Member Services will then:
1. Enter your information into our database(s);
2. Contact you to register you for a new member info meeting at which time you will be given your Member#, passwords for MLS (if applicable) and GRAR.org and various other membership materials. This session takes about 30-45 minutes during which you will also receive a brief overview of these resources in a group setting. These sessions are regularly scheduled on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.
3. While you are here, you will also be registered for three (3) mandatory classes: Intro to Tempo (if applicable), Membership Orientation and Ethics.

Alert: If you are interested in becoming a licensed sales agent, please be aware that New York State has passed a law increasing the requirement from a 45 hour course to a 75 hour course effective July 1, 2008.
To register for the Sales Qualifying course before the requirement goes into effect, please contact the GRAR Education Department at (585) 341-2150 or e-mail GRAREducation@grar.net. |
